As if we don’t already have enough new toys on the way, two more major releases were announced this morning by Sony and GoPro. Here’s the latest!
Sony 24mm f/1.4 GM

Touting it as the most compact and lightest lens of its kind, Sony makes pro-level performance easy to pack with their newest G Master lens. Utilizing multiple XA (eXtreme Aspherical) elements, the lens is only 3.75″ long and 3″ in diameter, without sacrificing signature G Master clarity and bokeh performance. Not only is the aperture super wiiiiiiiide at f/1.4, its 11 circular blades create round, natural blur in beautifully defocused backgrounds. Their latest DDSSM AF drive system ensures quiet and accurate AF, driving only the necessary lens elements to minimize breathing and cut size. Presales begin tomorrow, in-store or online at mikescamera.com, and delivery is slated for the end of October.
GoPro Hero7 series: White, Silver, & Black
The popular action-cam manufacturer has announced their latest and greatest, focusing their lineup down to three “good, better, best” iterations of the Hero7 and the 360° Fusion. Of greatest interest are several new features in the “best” model (the Black) driven by its double serving of RAM (compared to the Hero6), including the new “HyperSmooth” image stabilization algorithm and “TimeWarp” hyperlapse feature.
