The Canon EOS R8 Mark II was created to explore

Canon’s newest full-frame EOS body is the lightest-weight EOS camera yet released with in-body image stabilization! Available in late October, the EOS R8 Mark II is a stand-out camera for aspiring creators of all kinds.

The EOS R8 Mark II is available as a standalone body or in a kit with the RF24–50mm f/4.5–6.3 IS STM, a great lens (only 0.5 lbs!) for all-day exploration.

The EOS R8 Mark II is less than two pounds, yet the IBIS system is rated to provide a solid 7.5 stops of shake correction. At its heart lies a 24.2 MP full-frame CMOS sensor seeded with Dual Pixel AF points, capable of intelligent tracking of People, Animals, and Vehicles. (You can even register specific people for priority tracking!) This tracking ensures you never need to miss the subject, and the 40 fps electronic shutter burst mode with pre-continuous recording ensures you never need to miss the moment.

Vis-a-vis video, top quality is oversampled 4K 60p, which is fantastic for just about everything. Even if you’re shooting stills, Mark II shows a 30% increase in continuous RAW capability and a 58% increase in continuous JPEG shots as compared to the original EOS R8. With a little fluctuation in resolution, there are also robust options for slow and fast mode recording. Why not make time your little helper, rather than the other way around?

The EOS R8 Mark II makes color your subordinate as well! A+ Scene Intelligent Automatic Mode and 14 different SCN Modes are at the ready to make color management dead simple. If you want a little more control, 16 Color Filters (including new Positive Filmtone and Negative Filmtone) are within a couple button clicks at any moment, and there are four striking modes specifically tuned for handheld night scenes. Of course, if you would rather really take control in post, you can record in Canon Log 3.

Physically, the camera body features a brand new Multi-controller joystick, electronic viewfinder (EVF), vari-angle LCD and tally lamp. Wireless connectivity runs through Wi-Fi 2.4/5.0 GHz and Bluetooth 5.3, and wired charging and livestreaming requires a mere USB-C.

Whether you’re capturing the beating heart of your home city or the timeless soul of Ta Prohm temple, the EOS R8 Mark II makes it easier than ever to grasp the core of the subject. Come on down to your local Mike’s Camera or click here now to secure your place in line!
