Elevate everyday captures with the NIKKOR Z 24–105mm f/4–7.1

Wondering if there’s a lens that’s light enough to carry everywhere and versatile enough to capture everything? If you’re a Nikon user (or even just Nikurious), you’re in luck. The NIKKOR Z 24–105mm f/4–7.1 weighs only 12.4 ounces and will be available imminently at a Mike’s Camera near you. The lens on its own is expected this month, and will be available as part of a kit with the Nikon Z5II within the season.

The name pretty well speaks for itself—this is a lens that aims to keep as many plates spinning as possible, ready for landscape work, architecture, portraits, wildlife, and more; while it can’t match the performance of a backpack full of primes, it’s also not… an entire backpack full of primes. This is a great option for travel and for “set-it-and-forget-it” photography.

The lens does have a fairly short minimum focusing distance of 7.9″ (at 24mm; 11″ at 105mm), which should make obtaining attractive background separation a snap. Check out the sample images below—you can really get some nice shots with this lens!

Welcome and expected features include Nikon’s STM (stepping motor) autofocus system, which enables quiet, accurate focusing; the standard customizable control ring, which is super handy while you’re in the thick of things; and consideration for dust- and moisture-resistance. The Hi-Res Zoom feature on certain camera bodies also extends range to 210mm without sacrificing resolution, which is highly attractive when you’re considering how to pack the most versatility into one lens.
