Bokeh that melts your soul: Sigma’s 50mm f/1.2 DG DN | Art lens looks dreamy

Imminently available at your favorite Mike’s Camera, the Sigma 50mm f/1.2 DG DN | Art lens is a groundbreaking beast of bokeh. The Art line has always offered new opportunities for expression, and the latest in the category is bound to optically astound. The 50mm f/1.2 DG DN | Art will be available in both E-mount and L-mount.

The extremely wide f/1.2 aperture—Sigma’s first with a new design of 13 rounded blades—allows for unrivaled bokeh, contrasted with razor sharp focal points. In fact, Sigma claims that the 50mm f/1.2 will offer the highest level of optical performance and resolving power yet in the Sigma Art line, even wide open. Spherical aberration, sagittal coma flare, axial chromatic aberration, backlight flare, and more have all been heavily suppressed—as has focus breathing, for flawless videography performance.

A dual-HLA autofocus system allowed Sigma to condense all this optical performance into the lightest package yet for any 50mm f/1.2 lens—impressive! Manual controls are still in full complement, of course, including a customizable AFL button, aperture ring, aperture lock, and optional detent for said aperture ring.

The whole package is dust- and splash-resistant, with an oil-repellent coating to fully approve your passport to fearless photography.

The sample photos provided below can really speak for themselves. If you are working with a compatible camera and are in the market for a hard-to-beat professional prime lens, you’ve simply got to check this one out. Pre-order today to minimize the wait!
