The Photo & Video Expo is coming!

One of my favorite things about the photo industry is how close-knit the community is. Case in point? The annual pre-holiday Photo & Video Expo at Mike’s Camera.

I’m a huge techie—I’ve worked with a seemingly-infinite variety of programs and hardware from a wide variety of developers and manufacturers. That being said, even though I love hunting for deals on components or reading up on the latest from off-the-wall developers (latest obsession: the Cosmo Communicator), there are precious few brick-and-mortar hangouts and there’s a certain something missing from the online experience… and it’s certainly nothing that big box stores can provide!

Walking into your local camera store, in contrast, is a little like walking into Cheers. Your fellow customers are the kind of people you’d like to meet. The people working there are knowledgeable, passionate, and probably a little kooky. After a few visits, you’ll probably know each other well enough for a solid “hurray!” when you see one another. It’s the kind of industry that attracts artists, perfectionists, and archivists in equal measure, but we’ve all got one thing in common: love and respect for the power of images.

Celebrating that love is what the Photo & Video Expo is all about. We’ll be in peak form for fun, offering free seminars to help you become a better photographer, special Expo-only prices on select items, and taking trade-ins towards ever-cooler equipment in your imaging quest. All new camera purchases will include an exclusive bonus gift and a ticket to one of our famous post-holiday manufacturer classes. Naturally, there will be a raffle contest, too. You might even get to try lenses rarely visible in the wild!

The only thing better than a room full of like-minded “civilian” shooters at a fever pitch? Well, for Expo, just about every manufacturer sends out emissaries to show off their gear and share their knowledge! We’ll have reps from Nikon, Canon, Sony, Olympus, Panasonic, Fujifilm, Tamron, Manfrotto, Peak Design, MagMod, and Ikan in-store so you can pick their brains all day… except when they’re busy presenting the seminars!

Don’t miss the photography celebration of the year. Reps will rotate between stores, but the fun and promotional prices will apply across all of our locations.

$1000+$100

Here’s the idea: come in to take advantage of the huge amount of knowledge in the room to pick the perfect camera, get it at that great Expo price, use it for a couple weeks, then—knowing exactly what accessories you wish you had to complete your setup—come back in and we’ll take up to $100 off the price of that finishing touch. 1. Just to verify is the schedule the same at each facility And is the schedule for that 1 facility just that 1 day

    1. That is correct. The sales and other promotions are across all stores, but the reps and classes are only at the one location listed for each day, using the same schedule all three days.

    2. Thank you do I need to make a reservation as I would like to take all classes Saturday at the Dublin store

      1. No reservations necessary, but I’ve added links to Facebook events for the groups so you can share them and get your friends to join you!

    1. Hi, Ian! The promotions and trade-in opportunities will be available across all locations, but the reps and classes will only be in Sacramento, Dublin, and Menlo Park this time.
