Tamron’s latest lens is coming soon to Sony, Nikon, Fujifilm, and Canon APS-C mirrorless cameras all around the world! The 16–50mm f/2.8 A is small, light, and captures plenty of light. All will be available before the end of the year and would make a fine gift for any APS-C photographer in your life (even yourself, of course!).
Expected availability:
| Sony & Canon | October 14th |
| Nikon | November 19th |
| Fujifilm | December 17th |

As an APS-C lens, the field of view is roughly equivalent to 24–75mm on a full frame camera—a perfect normal zoom. The f/2.8 constant aperture brings the bokeh and can handle relatively dim lighting, too. This is a great step-up from any kit lens, without breaking the bank like luxury options, and being about the same length and width as a credit card, it won’t break your back, either. The closest focusing distance is a respectable 6″, and Tamron’s VXD AF is sure to capture scenes accurately.
Ready to capture life’s little moments? Grab this go-to zoom and leave slow, bulky kit lenses behind.
And, for the record, this can be fun on a full frame camera, too. I have an APS-C lens that I like to use specifically for the vignetting!
