The Fujifilm X-M5

As noted above, the features of the X-M5 are very similar to the wildly popular and currently unavailable Fujifilm X100VI with a different sensor, interchangeable lenses, and, surprisingly, a more compact frame. Plus, the X-M5 is the second Fujifilm camera (after the X-T50) to feature a dedicated film simulation mode dial! As one of Fuji’s more unique features, and one that is certainly a fan favorite, this dial is more than an aesthetic addition—one sure to be additive to your aesthetic development.
If you’re still wandering the streets with nothing more than your phone, or if you find yourself thinking that you’d be getting out shooting more if your camera wasn’t so darn big, this is a great option for you to consider. The 26.1 MP APS-C sensor is 16 times larger than the average phone camera’s, and the X-M5 is the smallest and lightest camera yet in the X lineup. The larger sensor’s boost in lower light performance and power to optically control bokeh (or background defocus, but not simulated) are compelling reasons to upgrade. Fujifilm’s capable X-Processor 5 drives a brand-new subject-detecting auto-focus algorithm and furiously encodes 6.2K 30P 4:2:2 10-bit video (max spec).
If you’re vlogging or specifically creating promotional content for mobile socials, there’s also a new “short movie mode” which allows you to record vertical-video in-camera without turning the camera vertically. No need to reconfigure your stabilizing devices or setup to bounce between vertical and proper video recording, and you can share instantly using the seamless connection to the free FUJIFILM XApp or Frame.io Camera To Cloud. There’s a microphone input, unusually but thoughtfully placed very close to the hotshoe, and the auto-noise-filtering internal microphones can be set to record “front,” “back,” “front & back,” or “surround” (though we strongly urge you to invest in a high quality audio recording solution if you’re going to be focusing on video production).
The X-M5 is effortlessly operated using a joystick and flip-out touchscreen panel. If previous Fujifilm releases are any gauge, demand will likely exceed supply for some time, so be sure to get your pre-order in early, in-store or by clicking these links:

The FUJINON XF500mm f/5.6 R LM OIS WR
You can tell we’re living in the future because phrases come up like “portable 500mm f/5.6 lens.” The light weight and mini size of the FUJINON XF500mm f/5.6 R LM OIS WR—only 2.94 pounds and only 10.1″ long—augmented by a powerful 5.5-stop optical image stabilization system, make for an unprecedented experience of confidence carrying this baby around and hand-holding.
Bear in mind, too, that a 500mm lens on an APS-C camera takes you further than it would on a full-frame—to the tune of a 762mm equivalent field of view. Still not enough? The XF500mm is also compatible with FUJINON 1.4x and 2x adapters. And while f/5.6 would be nothing to write home about on a nifty fifty, at this focal length, the bokehbility is incredible. Yahoo!

The FUJINON XF16–50mm f/2.8 R LM WR II
The original FUJINON XF16–50mm f/2.8 R LM WR has impressed casual and professional photographers alike, and the updated version promises to keep up the tradition. Significantly smaller and 37% lighter, yet sharper and with higher resolving power to keep up with the latest 40 MP sensors, this is a must-look. New ED and aspherical elements promise better bokeh than ever—a feature absolutely essential in any pro-level normal zoom.
The next-gen lens features an upgraded linear AF motor and is fully video-ready, with a de-clickable aperture ring and minimized focus breathing. It’s also rugged and ready to rock—dust, moisture, oil, and fingerprinting have all been strongly mitigated, and the lens is operable down to 14°F. It makes a great partner for any weather-resistant X-series body!
