Panasonic S-Series trade-in bonus

For a limited time only (through July 27th) you can get an additional $400 added to the value of your equipment when you trade in any working digital interchangeable-lens camera or working video camera with XLR audio toward a Panasonic Lumix S1 or S1R full-frame mirrorless camera. (That’s $400 on top of the normal trade-in value you would get without the bonus.) This is a great opportunity to walk the cutting edge of full-frame mirrorless technology at an incredibly attractive price.

Even better, Panasonic have decided to include the newly-announced S1 Filmmaker upgrade (a $200 value) at no additional cost with all North American orders of the S1 or S1 kit. (Note that the Filmmaker upgrade is not compatible with the S1R.) If you’ve already purchased your S1, stop back in at your store with your proof of purchase and you will be provided with an activation code. All new purchases from Mike’s Camera until July 27th August 31st, 2019, will include the activation code automatically. The upgrade is expected by the end of July, and enables the following features:

  • 4K 30p/24p 4:2:2 10-bit internal video recording
  • 4K 60p 4:2:2 10-bit live HDMI output
  • V-Log + V-Gammut from Varicam cinema cameras (15 stops dynamic range)

Update: If you’re interested in the S-Series, you’ll also be interested to know that the S1R was just awarded Camera of the Year in the prestigious Camera Grand Prix Japan 2019 by the Camera Journal Press Club, a consortium of some of the top camera-focused publications in Japan. It brings a certain symmetry to their Editors’ Award win 10 years ago for the G1, the first micro four thirds mirrorless ILC.
