Mirrorless Redefined: Welcome to the world, Z!

One adapter. Two cameras. Three lenses.

The live introduction in Tokyo of the Nikon Z system was certainly one of the most anticipated events of the year in the imaging world. Not only was the new full-frame mirrorless system branded with a “Z,” Nikon committed to developing a new line of pro-quality lenses to go with the new system, branded as the “S” series.

As the Z mount’s contacts were specifically promoted as being high-bandwidth and ready to transmit everything, it’s safe to assume that existing F-mount lenses should communicate fluently with the Z7 or Z6 with this adapter.

All of the lenses announced above are optimized for video-makers as well, with silenced focus/aperture drives minimal focus “breathing.”
