As good of a job as the world’s imaging engineers are doing at fitting better technology into smaller and smaller packages, sometimes even the smallest mirrorless ILCs are still too big (or, at events, not allowed). Yes, the compact camera still has its place, and manufacturers are still showing the love!
Slated for a mid-May delivery, the Panasonic LUMIX ZS300 is an impressive pocket tool. Its 15x optical zoom and sizeable 1″ sensor will make it a great fit for anyone looking for an EDC camera that can handle concerts, sports, street photography, and more. Click to pre-order today! The only thing you’ll have to decide is between the black and silver finishes.

That impressive zoom length (24–360mm full frame equivalent field of view) is achieved using a high-quality LEICA DC VARIO-ELMAR lens with a customizable control ring. The 1″ sensor onto which it projects has a resolution of 20.1 MP, and it is a BSI CMOS sensor (which is a significant image quality upgrade over the LUMIX ZS200, especially in low light).
A high-speed burst mode allows 30 fps capture of 4K still images. Videos can also be recorded at up to 4K 30p, with FHD video allowing framerates up to 60p. Plus, you can keep those videos steady with built-in 5-axis HYBRID O.I.S+ stabilization.
Post Focus, Focus Stacking, 22 Creative Control modes, and the ability to AF as closely as 1.18″, in conjunction with the remarkably broad zoom range, ensure an enormous amount of creative freedom. Take the LUMIX ZS300 with you wherever you go, and you’ll surely never be at a loss for creation!
The ZS300 is easily integrated, with the full complement of modern connectivity: Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and a USB-C PD port. Viewing is monitor-only, but a pop-up flash allows you to shed light on the situation when needed.
