Canon’s announced a whole batch of new gear, and we’re here to bring you all the good news! Without further ado…
EOS C50
Flaunting a brand-new 7K, full-frame CMOS sensor, the C50 is a mirrorless cinema body designed to maximize your creative freedom. Record up to 4K 120p or 7K 60p (and 32 MP stills) with 3:2 open gate recording, Dual Base ISO, and anamorphic compatibility. Dual Pixel AF II keeps the focus locked in and the camera can be controlled remotely via XC protocol (Wi-Fi or with a USB-C Ethernet adapter, not included). The package does include the top handle, which adds stability as well as two XLR inputs for great audio and additional physical controls.
The C50‘s small, light frame can slip into any production workflow but still sports plentiful I/O, including built-in rig mounts, a time code terminal, microphone/headphone jacks, HDMI, and more. Are you ready to unleash the auteur within?

RF85mm f/1.4 L VCM
A very fast, medium telephoto prime, this is the epitome of what’s promised in the L line. Still photographers will approve of this classic portrait length, while videographers will grasp the appeal of the manual iris ring, virtually silent VCM autofocus system, and lack of focus breathing.

ELPH 360 HS A
ELPH is back, baby! I fondly remember one of my first cameras, the SD950 IS Digital ELPH, so it’s nice to see a new model of compact camera still being released. Slim and stylish (in black or silver), the ELPH 360 HS A is designed to go everywhere you do, bringing a sort of “12x optical zoom” vibe to your images that you phone doesn’t really appreciate. You’ve got 20.2 MP to work with, too, so you can crop in as needed. The 360 adds intelligent stabilization and Hybrid Auto mode, which records a short video before taking your picture (like those living photos some phone-tographers are used to). Simple as. Let’s gooooooooo!
