Canon shooters: if you’re using an RF-mount camera with an APS-C sensor, you’ve got four new choices when it comes to high-performance, high-quality primes!
Coming in early December:
56mm f/1.4 DC DN | Contemporary
30mm f/1.4 DC DN | Contemporary
Coming in January:
23mm f/1.4 DC DN | Contemporary
16mm f/1.4 DC DN | Contemporary
A native mount means more than just the hardware to connect to the body. These lenses also feature a control algorithm developed specifically to work with Canon RF-mount cameras that optimizes the AF drive (speed, accuracy, etc.) and communication speed. Features like Servo AF and in-camera aberration correction are fully supported (in compatible cameras) and the mount is rubber-sealed to keep moisture and dust out. Sigma’s standard mount-conversion service will also be available, future-proofing your investment.
All four lenses share the same super-bright f/1.4 aperture and compact design. Maximum magnifications range from 1:7–1:9.9, so you won’t get super close but you won’t have to stand too far, either.
Bear in mind that these are designed for APS-C EOS mirrorless cameras, so the “equivalent field of view” (on a 35mm or full-frame camera) is 1.62x the stated focal length. Click the links below to pre-order, or feel free to try—and buy—these lenses in-person at any of our brick and mortar locations next month or the month after (as noted above).
56mm f/1.4 DC DN | Contemporary

Why use this focal length? Portraiture, street photography with a bit of distance from the subject, photos with just a bit more compression than “normal.”

30mm f/1.4 DC DN | Contemporary

Why use this focal length? This is the closest focal length to “normal” on an APS-C camera—that is, the field of view and level of compression are about the same as those of your eyes themselves. If you want to see-shoot, this is the one.

23mm f/1.4 DC DN | Contemporary

Why use this focal length? Have you ever been looking at a scene in real life and thought, I sure wish I could have been just a little bit further away? This is the lens for you.

Why use this focal length? Now we’re getting into the true wide-angle territory. Architecture? Check. Landscapes? Check. Just check your vibe, and if it’s right, buy the ticket—take the ride.
