New ICC profiles available for ProMaster inkjet paper

Huge news for home printers! ProMaster has just released new ICC profiles for some of the most popular home professional inkjet printers, dramatically simplifying the process of getting good results on their excellent inkjet papers.

I’ve made many, many inkjet prints, both for our talented customers and for myself, and having an ICC profile developed for your particular printer/paper combo can make all the difference in color accuracy and general print quality. If you’re not familiar with how to use ICC profiles, feel free to comment below and I can help you troubleshoot. (Bonus hint—make sure you have a profile set up for your monitor as well. Calibration is key!)

New profiles have been created for the following printers:

  1. Please Help! Just bought some Metallic Premium and I have the Canon Pro-200. How would you get the ICC to be recognized with Canon’s Profession Print & Layout utility. I have the .ICC in the C:\Windows\System32\spool\drivers\color folder, but it will not display.

      1. Hi, Issue resolved. Just some confusion. For those who may have the same confusion, here’s some notes. Depending on the software, the list of profiles may not show the path of the file in the profile chooser. Canon’s Professional Print & Layout does not, but LR does in the print module. However, it may not be obvious until you widen that dialog box in LR. Once the ICC is installed (I’m a windows install), it is named CP2-AJSMG1117-20.icm. The non-obvious name and different file extension caused the confusion, and I thought it was some other system profile. Lastly, choose your paper type as glossy on your printer when using the Metallic Premium paper. My first print was outstanding and was very pleased.

  2. I have a canon pro 1000. Are there promaster icc profiles for my printer? Specifically the natural watercolor cotton paper.

    1. I’ve reached out to someone at ProMaster about availability of profiles for the PRO-1000 and I’ll let you know if I get any new information to share.

    2. Howdy, Heidi. I heard back from our man on the inside—unfortunately there are no PRO-1000 profiles yet available, but there may be some in development for next year. (Of course, it’s always possible to make your own custom profiles, but it sure is nice to have the manufacturer do it!)
