April is for archiving: transfer tapes for 40% less!

Digitizing analogue media is a time-consuming and sometimes tricky process. The alternative, however, is a slow deterioration and eventual loss of priceless family history, especially in the case of magnetic media like VHS tapes. Think of all the home movies you actually know exist—births, weddings, school plays—and imagine the countless memories that may be hiding on tapes that have been forgotten: in an attic, or that your parents have stashed, or any number of places.

Revive your college art films or relive your favorite vacations with full sound and motion—whatever you do, don’t let price stop you from letting us rescue your irreplaceable treasures this month. Until April 30th, you can leave any (or all) of your video tapes for our preservation specialists to transfer to DVD or editable digital file at a whopping 40% off of our regular price.

Our extremely versatile video lab can handle almost any video tape you can dig up, including:

  • VHS
  • VHS-C
  • Video-8
  • Hi-8
  • Digital-8
  • MiniDV
  • HDV
  • Betamax
  • Betacam
  • U-Matic

Yup, even broadcast tapes—but we do respect copyrights, so be sure that you are legally allowed to copy anything you’d like to bring in!

Protip: Lots of families are getting together for Easter this weekend. With a little planning, you could get your hands on some seriously cool footage that’s doing nothing but deteriorating in a box. Ask grandma if you could have a look in her entertainment center, or call up the cousins and make a pool of everyone’s home movies to get transferred before the next get-together!

Our lab is also fully-equipped for top-quality reproduction. When you drop off your tapes, ask about full-color disc printing and totally custom packaging for the duplicates that you’ll inevitably need.

This deal is available in-store only, but you can find more detail and a price list (from which you’ll subtract 40%!) on our website, here.

  1. Can I bring pictures into your store and pictures from my phone to have them put on a DVD or something that will play like a movie on my tv for a graduation party? If so how long does it take?

    1. Absolutely! Normally we like to have at least three days, but that may vary depending on how big of a project it is, the workload already in progress when you bring it in, and/or the urgency of your needs.
