John Kieffer, president of the Flatirons Photo Club in Boulder, will speak at the Aurora Society of Photographers on Monday, February 4, 2019 at 7:00 PM.
Where: St Stephens Church, 1 Del Mar Circle in Aurora (corner of Peoria St and Del Mar Circle).
“‘Beyond Nature’ is my favorite subject because it’s helpful for so many kinds of photography, from nature and travel to social media. I think all levels of photographers will leave with very practical techniques for any style of camera, from DSLR to your smart phone. I begin with my favorite concepts for quickly improving your nature photography, but evolve into adding man-made objects and ultimately, people.”
John will also demonstrate how these simple but effective techniques were used in his newest book “Boulder, Colorado: A Photographic Portrait.”
John moved to Boulder in 1979 and has a long professional photo career of both editorial and commercial assignments. He’s the photographer and author of six books on travel, nature and commercial photography. John began his professional career as a photo assistant in New York City. Afterwards, he wrote the critically acclaimed book: “The Photographer’s Assistant,” twice, before and after the digital revolution. Next, he photographed and wrote “Mastering Nature Photography.” This was one of the earliest books on digital photography, photo websites and internet marketing.
